Pilgrimage

Working somewhere away from home for no money hasn’t yet proved to be a very appealing holiday option for Russian travelers. However, many people in developed countries admit volunteering to be a wonderful way to travel cheaply, collect impressions and experience, get to know the culture of a country from within, at the same time proudly and feasibly contributing to making our world a better place to live.

On January 19th in 2007 on Amavasya (a new moon), in the beginning of Maagha, a month in the Hindu calendar, there was the culmination of Kumbh Mela, a holiday that lasted one month.

In Sanskrit the word Kailāśā means “crystal”. In Tibetan this mountain is named Gang Rinpoche that means “jewelry of snow”. In a tradition of Indian Jainism it is called Ashtapada.
